PROFESSIONAL TRAINER CERTIFICATE

The overall aim of this course is to explore the training skills needed to deliver effective learning and the opportunity to practice them in relation to the six elements of the syllabus:

  • Training needs and objectives
  • Understand the concept and benefit of training.

  • Learning styles and preferences
  • Understand the necessity of formulating measurable objectives relevant to the learning situation and be able to assess and evaluate a training session.

  • Training skills
  • Understand that the nature of the training environment has an impact on learning.

  • Training structure and design
  • Recognise and use differing methods and roles and recognise their relative merits and appropriateness.

  • Training styles and communication
  • Be Competent in using visual aids and equipment

  • Training assessment Course Objectives
  • Know how to effectively plan, competently deliver, communicate effectively and evaluate a training session.

The course is suitable for all potential or current trainers. For those candidates who wish to be registered as tutors with the CIEH you will need 'advanced qualifications' (such as CIEH Advanced Food hygiene or CIEH Advanced Health & Safety Certificate), plus experience of managing your discipline in the workplace plus the 'professional trainer certificate' before you are eligible to apply to them.

The emphasis of the course is on quality tuition and giving participants maximum support; valuable insight into the training environment; experience of delivering sessions a syllabus and knowledge on how to deliver courses.
